Our Story
Hey S.T.E.P.S. Family! We are delighted to get to know you and for you to get to know us. To formally introduce ourselves, we are Dr. Erika Hill, LPC, ACS, and Dr. Jamilah Jones, LPC, ACS. We met while obtaining our Masters in School Counseling and a Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Contemporary Mental Health Services at Capella University. After graduating and becoming full-time school counselors for middle and high school children, we realized we did not want to limit ourselves to only working with adolescents. We also wanted to provide Strategic Therapeutic Empowering Principle Skills for adults, schools, and businesses to have a positive impact on themselves, employees, and communities by building healthy relationships and promoting mental health awareness. For this reason, we put our minds together and decided to create S.T.E.P.S. Counseling & Consulting, Inc. We then went a step further and obtained our Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.

S.T.E.P.S. Counseling & Consulting, Inc. is a counseling consulting business striving to break the stigma and increase awareness for more individuals to #SayYesToCounseling. As two licensed professional counselors in Georgia and New Jersey, professors, consultants, supervisors, and self-published authors, we use our platforms and products to promote mental health awareness. These platforms and products include our counseling-based workshops, individual/group therapy, books, greeting cards, apparel, and social media. Before becoming clinicians, we grew up observing mental health being frowned upon or objected to in marginalized and underserved communities. We are passionate about shattering this barrier so more people are comforted in knowing that it is ok to #SayYesToCounseling.
Currently, we operate a private practice providing telehealth counseling services. Additionally, we provide counseling-based workshops for businesses, supervision for licensure, books to connect with our audience, and apparel promoting mental health awareness.
